Roosts in cervices or bell-holes in caves, usually not far from large streams or rivers. Has been seen feeding low open surfaces of water such as wide streams.

Geographic range: Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam.

Population trend: Stable

IUCN Redlist Status: Least concern
