Common name: Lesser False Vampire

 

Ecology and habitat: 

Roost in small groups in caves, tunnels or hollow trees. Eat mainly large insects but sometimes small vertebrates including other bats. Despite the name it does not drink blood and unrelated to South American vampire bats.

Geographic range: Malaysia, Bangladesh, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam.
