KELAWAR-CAVING

Connecting People to Bats in Darkness

Kelawar-Caving is a website that provides information of bat species found in Wind Cave Nature Reserve. We incorporate a 3D topographic map (LiDAR), high resolution images of bats found in specific spots in the cave along with their natural history information. These information can be accessed via a QR code that is placed at the bat roosting site inside the cave. All of these technology allows visitor to experience both cave environment as well as bats reside within them and making their visit more fun while learning what only bat biologist able to explore.

We acknowledge the bats species as the centre of attraction because of its high number of individuals and wide diversity of species. This cave is the home for diverse species of frugivorous and insectivorous bats, can be seen as soon as you step into the cave. Other faunas such as swiftlets, snakes, insects, and frogs also can be observed.
